So last meet I did I ended up having to try and drop 7.5lb over the last week. Although the meet went well my logic was telling me with that kind of drop over that short amount of time there would have been a strength drop (at some level). I don't think it was much but I do believe it flttened me out a little.
So this time I thought I would try it the other way round; one week until the meet, over the last ten days I have been deliberately dropping while keeping my training consistency & intensity up. Using food & water manipulation I've dropped 5.5lb ~ this morning I weighed in at 141.4.
My reasoning behind this is now I can focus on bringing my weight back up (which even if this offers no strength benefits it is much mentally better for me), and have no stress or worries about making weight. I have nearly 4lb to play with and I plan to come in bang on 145.
** Video is from leg day last week, leg press 280kg x 8. Squat is back up at 140kg, back where it was 7yrs ago!
