I've had a few days break, feeling recharged and ready to go again. I qualified for the South Island Nationals on June 11th which gives me six weeks to prepare.

GOAL TOTAL FOR NATIONALS: 440kg / 970lbs

I'll be needing to use everything to my advantage, so the knee wraps will be coming out of a seven year hibernation! This should bring my squat up at least 140kg. Bench... well it's probably my weakest lift but I think 105-110 is attainable. My strong suit is the deadlift, I reckon I could pull about 185 right now so a 190 is my target.

Anything over 422.5kg in my weight class would meet the qualifying standards for the NZ Nationals. The others don't look too out of my reach over the next few years either, I just need to put in the hard work and work on my technique.

NZPF Qualification Totals (59-66kg class)

Silver - Commonwealth Champs
500kg

Bronze - Oceania Champs
462.5kg

Black - New Zealand National Champs
422.5kg

Brown - South/North Island Champs
382.5kg

My six week training block kicks off tomorrow, back soon J.
